Job summary

Jewish Care is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly catering team, supporting the delivery of high-quality meals and hospitality services in our care homes and community centres.

This is a hands-on role with 35 hours per week, typically 5 days out of 7, including some weekends. You’ll assist with food preparation, keep spaces clean and safe, and help create a welcoming dining experience for residents and the wider community.

Qualifications

• You don’t need previous experience—we’ll provide training.
• Experience in a kitchen or catering environment is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with basic food preparation
• Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Keeping kitchen and dining areas clean and organised
• Supporting meal service and preparing dining areas
• Helping with hospitality and special events
• Working closely with chefs and front‑of‑house teams
