Job summary

Avante Care & Support is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for Parkview Care Home in Bexleyheath. You will support meal service, prep ingredients, and help the Cook/Head Chef deliver nutritious, comforting meals in a warm dining environment.

This role requires an Environmental Health Certificate in Food Hygiene (essential). We offer competitive pay (£12.75 per hour), flexible relief and contracted hours, DBS check, uniform, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Essential Environmental Health Certificate in Food Hygiene.
• Experience in care/kitchen roles desirable.
• City & Guilds or similar qualifications advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prep fresh ingredients – fruits, vegetables, and more.
• Assist with meal preparation and support our Cook/Head Chef.
• Serve meals and ensure mealtimes are enjoyable for residents.
• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean, safe, and hygienic.
• Follow food hygiene, safety, and nutritional standards every day.
• Help plan menus with input from residents.
• Ensure high standards of care in line with Avante’s Eden Alternative Philosophy.
