Job summary

Avante Care & Support Ltd. is seeking a Relief Kitchen Assistant at Puddingstone Grange, to help prepare meals and support a welcoming dining experience for residents. You will work with the Cook/Head Chef to ensure nutritious offerings and high hygiene standards.

You’ll join a compassionate team at a care home that values dignity, independence, and wellbeing, with flexible working arrangements and training opportunities to grow in the role.

Qualifications

• Environmental Health Certificate in Food Hygiene is essential.
• Team player with a positive, flexible attitude.
• Experience in a similar role and/or City & Guilds qualification is desirable.
• Passion for making meals that bring joy to others.

Responsibilities

• Prep fresh ingredients – fruits, vegetables, and more.
• Assist with meal preparation and support the Cook/Head Chef.
• Serve meals and ensure mealtimes are enjoyable for residents.
• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean, safe, and hygienic.
• Follow food hygiene, safety, and nutritional standards daily.
• Help plan menus with input from residents.
• Ensure high standards of care in line with Avante’s Eden Alternative Philosophy.
