Job summary

Anchor Hanover Group is seeking a Catering Assistant for Overstone House Northampton, a resident-focused care home. The role is 35 hours per week, based on site, and emphasizes teamwork, food safety, and care for residents in a positive kitchen environment.

You will support meal preparation and service, follow health and safety standards, minimise waste, and communicate any issues to the catering team. Prior kitchen experience and a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate are preferred.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Experience working with older people (ideal, but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and service of nutritious, well-presented meals.
• Ensuring all health, safety, and hygiene standards are followed to the highest level.
• Helping minimise waste and using kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Supporting the catering team and communicating any issues promptly.
