Job summary

Care South is looking for a friendly, flexible kitchen assistant to work within a busy care home in Dorset House. The role involves assisting with meal prep, serving residents during mealtimes and upholding high food safety standards.

You will join a caring team, with shifts including mornings, afternoons and weekends. Prior care or catering experience is helpful but not essential, and a caring attitude is essential to support our residents.

Qualifications

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Previous experience in a care or catering setting is helpful but not essential.
• Ability to support residents during mealtimes.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef and kitchen team with basic preparation of fresh and nutritious meals, snacks and drinks for residents.
• Follow all food safety and health & safety regulations.
• Support residents to enjoy their dining experience with every meal.
• Ensure kitchen and dining areas are clean and hygienic.
• Wash cooking appliances and crockery – sanitize food preparation areas.
