Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd is seeking experienced Kitchen Assistants to work in care homes across Southampton and surrounding areas. Roles offer flexible shifts, ongoing temporary assignments, and weekly pay. You will support meal prep, service, and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment across multiple sites.

The job requires an Enhanced DBS and a good understanding of food hygiene. Candidates should be reliable, hardworking and capable of adapting to different teams and kitchens.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS clearance required.
• Experience as Kitchen Assistant or similar.
• Experience in care homes desirable.
• Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with basic food preparation and meal service.
• Prepare ingredients, snacks, drinks and simple items as required.
• Serve meals to residents in a friendly, professional manner.
• Assist with setting up and clearing dining and kitchen areas.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen environment and follow safety procedures.
• Store food and cleaning products safely.
