Gloucester Charities Trust in Gloucester is seeking a Chef Manager for our Guild House residential care home. The role oversees catering services to provide nutritious, varied meals that meet residents’ needs, promoting health and wellbeing.

The position is 30 hours per week with £17.00 per hour and £1.00 extra per hour on weekends, supporting a person-centred dining experience in a regulated care setting. We offer strong benefits and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and oversee the delivery of nutritious, balanced, and appetising meals.
• Develop seasonal menus that reflect residents’ preferences, dietary requirements, and nutritional needs.
• Manage special diets, including texture-modified meals, diabetic diets, allergies, and cultural requirements.
• Lead, motivate, and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of performance and professionalism.
• Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, health and safety, infection prevention, and SFBB regulations.
• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and food storage areas.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Manage kitchen budgets, stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
• Minimise food waste while maintaining high standards of service.
• Work closely with care and nursing teams to support residents with changing nutritional needs.
• Participate in resident meetings and gather feedback to continuously improve the dining experience.
• Ensure compliance with CQC standards and company policies.
