Job summary

Swissport at Stansted is seeking a Cargo Warehouse / Ramp Agent. You will organise warehouse storage and handle equipment, loading/unloading air cargo, and ensure SOPs and safety standards are followed.

This role requires flexibility across shifts, the ability to travel to the airport when needed, and the capability to lift up to 32 kg. Prior aviation exposure is desirable, with a full UK driving licence required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in aviation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading air cargo onto vehicles and storage areas.
• Preparing and palletizing cargo as needed.
• Ensuring cargo paperwork is correct.
• Assuring proper handling and delivery of cargo and operation of related equipment.
• Following Dangerous Goods requirements and regulations.
• Delivering air cargo to recipients when required.
• Providing special handling of live animals as required.
• Operating specialist equipment such as vans, forklifts, cargo dollies, trailers.
• Reporting equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
• Complying with airport security requirements and SOPs.
• Maintaining high safety and security standards at all times.
• Carrying out other duties as assigned.

Job description

As a Cargo Warehouse / Ramp Agent, based at STANSTED airport you will organize warehouse and storage facilities and arrange warehouse handling equipment and load/unload air cargo. You will maintain the required safety and quality standards as well as comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and company policies.

Interviews will take place on 16-10-26 on a invite only basis.

Pay:

• Starting Rate: £32,233.50 — £16.53
• After Probation: £32,701.50 — £16.77
• After 1 Year: £38,668.50 — £19.83

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading air cargo onto vehicles and storage areas
• Preparing and palletize cargo as needed
• Ensuring paperwork related to the cargo is correct
• Assuring proper handling and delivery of cargo and operation of related equipment
• Following Dangerous Goods Requirements and Regulations
• Delivering air cargo to appropriate recipient if required
• Providing special handling of live animals as required
• Driving and/or operate specialist equipment which may include vans, fork lift trucks, cargo dollies/trailers.
• Reporting all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager
• Complying with all relevant legislation and airport authority and carrier security requirements
• Complying with Swissport Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Maintaining the highest standards of safety and security at all times
• Other duties as assigned
