Job summary

Swissport International AG at Manchester Airport is hiring a Cargo Warehouse Agent to organise warehouse storage, arrange handling equipment and load/unload air cargo in a safe, compliant manner. You will follow SOPs, maintain high safety standards, and work on a rotating schedule including days and nights, weekends and bank holidays, in a busy operational environment.

Flexibility, teamwork and the ability to lift up to 32 kg are essential; a driving licence is preferred and aviation experience

Qualifications

• Flexible to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Must be able to speak and understand the English language.
• Able to lift up to 32 kg repeatedly.
• Willingness to travel to the airport when needed.
• Previous aviation experience is desirable.

Overview

As a Swissport Cargo Warehouse Agent at Manchester International Airport you will organize warehouse and storage facilities and arrange warehouse handling equipment and load/unload air cargo. You will maintain the required safety and quality standards as well as comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and company policies.

Shifts will include days and nights and will incorporate weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading air cargo onto vehicles and storage areas
• Preparingand palletize cargo as needed
• Ensuringpaperwork related to the cargo is correct
• Assuringproper handling and delivery of cargo and operation of related equipment
• Following Dangerous Goods Requirements and Regulations
• Delivering air cargo to appropriate recipient if required
• Providingspecial handling of live animals as required
• Drivingand/or operate specialist equipment which may include vans, fork lift trucks, cargo dollies/trailers.
• Reporting all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager
• Complying with all relevant legislation and airport authority and carrier security requirements
• Complying with Swissport Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Maintaining the highest standards of safety and security at all times
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and public holidays)
• Ability to speak and understand the English language
• Ability to travel to the airport at times where public transport is not available
• Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required
• Willingness to work in inclement weather
• Able to work in a manual environment and repeatedly lift up to 32kg throughout a shift
• Able to work as a team in a fast paced environment
• A full driving licence preferred
• Previous experience working in an aviation environment desirable
