Job summary

Swissport is seeking a Cargo Warehouse Agent at Manchester International Airport to organize warehouse and storage facilities, arrange handling equipment, and load/unload air cargo. You will maintain safety standards and SOP compliance while supporting operations on a rota that includes days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading cargo, ensuring paperwork accuracy, operating equipment, and following DG requirements.

Qualifications

• Flexible to work variety of shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays).
• Ability to speak and understand English.
• Ability to travel to the airport when public transport is not available.
• Ability to follow processes and SOPs and apply a flexible approach when required.
• Willingness to work in inclement weather.
• Able to lift up to 32kg repeatedly in a manual environment.
• Able to work as a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Full driving licence preferred.
• Previous experience in aviation environment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading air cargo onto vehicles and storage areas.
• Preparing and palletizing cargo as needed.
• Ensuring paperwork related to the cargo is correct.
• Assuring proper handling and operation of related equipment.
• Following Dangerous Goods requirements and regulations.
• Delivering air cargo to the appropriate recipient if required.
• Providing special handling of live animals as required.
• Driving and/or operating specialist equipment such as vans, forklift trucks, cargo dollies/trailers.
• Reporting all equipment malfunctions to the supervisor/manager.
• Complying with all relevant legislation, airport authority and carrier security requirements.
• Complying with Swissport SOPs and maintaining high safety and security standards.

Shifts will include days and nights and will incorporate weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
