Job summary

South West Norse is seeking a part-time Caretaker for Whitchurch Primary School in Tavistock. You will work on-site, 20 hours per week, with shifts 7:30pm–9:30pm and 3:00pm–6:00pm, ensuring the premises are clean and safe to contract standards.

The role includes maintaining site equipment, handling inventory, and complying with health and safety guidelines. Full training is provided, and enhanced DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is advantageous but full training is provided.
• Capable of delivering a high level of customer service.
• Confident working both independently and as part of a team.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to engage with members of the public.

£14.53 Per hour, equivalent to £30,227.31 pro rata (based on a 40 hour working week)

20 hours per week

Monday to Friday, 7:30pm - 9:30pm & 3:00pm - 6:00pm

South West Norse is a FM provider delivering support services to businesses across cleaning and facilities management disciplines across the region. We currently have a great opportunity for a Caretaker to join our established team at Whitchurch Primary School on a permanent, part-time basis.

Role Duties:

As a Caretaker, you will be working on-site under the direction of an area supervisor, ensuring the site and grounds are cleaned and maintained to contractual standards. You will be responsible for equipment and products used in carrying out your role, including inventory and safe storage.

Your Experience:

If you have previously worked within a similar role then this would be advantageous however, at Norse we can offer full training and support for enthusiastic individuals if you can demonstrate:

• Capable of delivering a high level of customer service.
• Confident working both on your own and as part of a team.
• Good interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with the client.
• Comfortable engaging with members of the public.
• Any knowledge of health & safety guidelines relevant to the role would be an advantage.
