We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Mobile Caretaker/Janitor to join our Dumfries and Galloway schools account in Lockerbie Academy, Glasgow Road, Lockerbie, DG11 2AT.

37.5 hours per week (The hours would be between 06:30am and 22:00pm, working an 8-hour shift.)

We work in partnership with our clients and end-users to ensure our 24/7 services are delivered to the highest standard with minimum impact or disruption to day-to-day operational requirements of the schools.

What you will do:

  • Ensure smooth running of the school premises
  • Carrying out day-to-day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (i.e., furniture fixtures, wall repairs)
  • To ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
  • Daily responsible to check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
  • Checking the premises to guard against vandalism
  • Arranging chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clearing away afterwards
  • Litter picking and general clearing of external areas

What you will bring:

  • Knowledge and previous experience in practical DIY skills for minor repair
  • Good Team Player
  • Flexible with shift work
  • Good at developing strong working relationships with on-site client and employees
  • Thisrole will also support both local and businesszero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in astrategicand lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract
