We are looking for a passionate Caretaker to join our team at Ty Bronllys home and school in Brecon. You will play a vital role in the day-to-day life at the services. Your work will make a difference in the lives of the individuals we support.

A day in the life of a Caretaker with Orbis Education and Care involves:

• Cleaning the building and checking for pest control issues
• Gardening and landscape duties or supervising others in these roles
• Inspecting the building's systems, including heating, cooling, lighting, and alarms
• Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene, courtesy, and consideration to all clients, colleagues, and visitors
• Maintaining confidentiality of client information in accordance with company policy
• Working as part of the staff team, cooperating fully, and communicating effectively to provide a supportive environment
• Promoting a positive image of the unit and organisation professionally
• Performing any other duties appropriate to the role

To be a successful Caretaker with Orbis Education and Care, you’ll need:

• Ability to manage crisis situations
• Courteous, honest, and practical attitude
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Ability to make minor repairs and maintain small equipment
• Understanding of technical information, building construction, and design
• Construction, Building, Engineering, or IOSH certifications are desirable but not essential
• High school education with GCSEs, NVQ, or SVQ qualifications
• Experience working with people with ASD or LD is desirable but not essential
