Job summary

Carers Federation Ltd. in Gateshead is seeking a Part-time Project Support to back our Caregivers Connected Gateshead service. You will help unpaid caregivers access tailored support, information, and signposting across face-to-face and remote channels.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, group facilitation, and collaboration with local partners to improve caregiver outcomes. A DBS check and references are required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with unpaid caregivers.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, and/or caregiver support experience.

Responsibilities

• Support and empower unpaid caregivers, including parent caregivers.
• Provide information via face-to-face, telephone, and other channels.
• Facilitate and run caregivers’ groups across Gateshead.
• Complete MOSAIC and light-touch assessments and monitoring.
• Signpost to community services, respite and other agencies.
• Support transitions into adult services, education, employment or training.
• Attend safeguarding meetings and adhere to safeguarding policies.
• Collaborate with GP practices, Health & Social Care, and community partners.
• Manage caseloads and contribute to service planning.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure proper documentation.
• Travel around Gateshead and access to own vehicle.
