Job summary

National Skills Agency in Grays is seeking an IAG & Work Experience Officer to plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality work experience placements for learners aged 16-19, with some 16-25 learners with high needs. You will source employers, ensure placements meet safety and compliance standards, and work with centres to prepare learners for the workplace.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) or above.
• A minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
• Knowledge of the Study Programme requirements, particularly related to work experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of Gatsby Benchmarks.
• Experience sourcing and securing employers to provide work experience or work-related learning opportunities.
• Experience organizing and delivering engaging presentations and workshops.
• Experience delivering effective individual and group sessions.
• Experience developing and maintaining positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• Experience representing an organisation or brand in an outward-facing role.
• Experience developing promotional and information materials.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• A proactive, positive and enthusiastic approach to work.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work-related travel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate work experience requirements with curriculum teams to secure meaningful opportunities.
• Source and maintain a range of employer partnerships and work experience opportunities.
• Match learners to placements considering interests, skills and aspirations.
• Ensure placements meet Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Insurance requirements.
• Plan and deliver sessions with centre teams to prepare learners for the workplace.
• Support learners through the work experience process from preparation to review.
• Arrange appropriate ALS, welfare and financial support where required.
• Record and monitor learner attendance and progress on placements.
• Collect feedback from employers and learners to monitor quality of placements.
