Qualifications

• At least six months UK healthcare or support work experience in a relevant setting.
• Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months or registered on the Update Service.
• PMVA or equivalent behaviour-management training.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage challenging situations.
• Desirable CAMHS experience and working with individuals with complex mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily routines, emotional wellbeing and independence.
• Monitor and respond to behavioural or mental health presentations.
• Complete care records and documentation; follow care plans and risk assessments.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and positive behaviour support strategies.
• Communicate effectively with service users, families and healthcare professionals.

Job description

Nursing Direct is recruiting experienced Care Support Workers to provide high-quality mental health and complex care support across Barnet and Enfield. The role involves working within supported living, residential and home care environments, delivering person-centred support that promotes dignity, independence and positive outcomes.

Responsibilities include supporting individuals with daily routines, emotional wellbeing and independence, monitoring and responding appropriately to behavioural or mental health presentations, completing care records and documentation, following care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and positive behaviour support strategies, and communicating effectively with service users, families and healthcare professionals.

Applicants should have a minimum of six months UK healthcare or support work experience in a relevant setting, an Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months or registered on the Update Service, PMVA or equivalent behaviour-management training, strong communication skills and the ability to manage challenging or complex situations calmly and professionally. CAMHS experience and experience supporting individuals with complex mental health or behavioural needs are desirable.
