Job summary

McCarthy Stone is looking for a Care Supervisor at Eleanor House, St Albans, to lead the Care & Support team during evening hours from 4:15pm to 9:00am with alternating weekends. This role involves coordinating resident care and promoting independence in a welcoming retirement living setting.

The position is part-time, based at Eleanor House, and includes funded Level 3 training, 28 days holiday (pro-rated), and wellbeing support. Sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Experienced in care or support work (1+ year preferred).
• Level 3 Adult Health & Social Care (minimum of Level 2 Health and Social Care and willing to upskill).
• Leadership experience – you’ve supported or supervised a team.
• Organised, compassionate, and community-minded.

Eleanor House is an elegant

Retirement Living PLUS development, of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, home to a vibrant and friendly community for the over 70s. The estate has a communal lounge and also a restaurant serving meals every day.

A typical shiftstarts from 4.15pm and finish's at 9.00am and you will be working alternate weekends.

Our

Care Supervisors sleep between 11:00pm and 07:00am providing only emergency support to our homeowners throughout that period.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead, support, and motivate the Care & Support team
• Coordinate resident care plans and ensure compliance with high standards
• Assist with wellbeing-focused activities and day-to-day care needs
• Foster a friendly, inclusive atmosphere that promotes independence

£16.25 / hour day rate

+ £1/hour weekend enhancement (midnight Friday to midnight Sunday)
