Job summary

Belmont Recruitment is seeking two Brokerage Officers to join Leicestershire County Council on a 3-month temporary contract. The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, to manage referrals and source appropriate placements with contracted providers.

The officers will liaise with providers, monitor costs, and ensure cost-effective placements while staying updated on legislation and equality policies. Experience in social care/health settings is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a Social Care/ Health setting.
• Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft packages including databases.

Responsibilities

• Manage the referrals received and source placements with appropriate residential and nursing homes who hold a contract with LCC
• To liaise with providers and keep and oversight of costs and wherever possible negotiate charges to be in line with banded rates
• To review all referrals and taking into account needs of the person source an appropriate placement with a provider who can meet the required needs taking into account costs and any preferences identified within the referral
• To keep up to date with current legislation, guidelines and best practice that applies to the role
• To deal with people professionally at all levels and from a variety of backgrounds role modelling superior levels of customer care
• To be able to recognise and deal with discrimination in its many forms and willing to actively put the council's equality policies into practice
• To keep an overview of supply/demand issues across the county and liaise with commissioners and providers to ensure that care is purchased for service users in priority need in a cost effective way
• To be aware and keep up to date of bed availability across the county along with any current contractual restrictions
