Job summary

Leiston Surgery is seeking a Care Navigator and Receptionist to join a rural GP team. You will be the first point of contact, directing patients to the right clinician, handling bookings and records, and supporting the dispensary and admin staff. Training provided; computer literacy is essential.

Experience in general practice is preferred but not essential, and you will join a busy team in a teaching practice setting with ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths grade C or above.
• Experience in administration.
• Experience using computers.

Responsibilities

• Care navigation and directing patients to the right service.
• Answering telephones and dealing with patients face to face.
• Booking appointments for GPs, AHPs, practice nurses and healthcare assistants.
• Using SystmOne for the full range of patient queries.
• Summarising and coding clinical information in the patient record system.
• Maintaining pathology results system and informing patients when results are in.
• Sending medical referrals electronically.
• Processing medical report requests and requests for medical records.
• Filing and retrieving patient records.
• Registering new patients and handling mail, photocopying and forms.
• Checking prescriptions in the dispensary during evening surgery.
• Opening/closing the premises and performing safety checks.
