Job summary

NHS National Services Scotland at Path House Medical Practice in Kirkcaldy is seeking a Care Navigator/Administrator for two part-time permanent positions, Monday–Friday. The role centers on handling high-volume patient calls, booking appointments and guiding patients to the right clinician.

Candidates should have excellent communication, customer service skills, empathy and discretion, with good IT ability to learn GP systems. Shifts are 25 or 30 hours per week.

CARE NAVIGATOR/ADMINISTRATOR
Part-time Permanent- Two positions available
Monday – Friday

Are you a confident communicator with excellent customer service skills and a passion for helping people?
Path House Medical Practice is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Care Navigator to join our friendly and supportive team. Serving approximately 17,300 patients, we are a busy, forward thinking practice committed to delivering high quality patient care.

About the Role

A Care Navigator is the vital first point of contact for patients accessing our services. Working in a fast paced environment you will help patients access the right care, from the right person, at the right time.
Please note that a significant proportion of this role involves telephone work. Successful candidates will spend much of their working day answering a high volume of patient calls, assessing patients needs, booking appointments and ensuring patients are directed to the most appropriate member of the healthcare team. Applicants should be confident communicators with an excellent telephone manner and the ability to remain professional, compassionate and efficient in a busy environment.
The role requires excellent communication skills, empathy, sound judgement and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

About You

You will:

  • Have an excellent telephone manner and strong customer service skills
  • Enjoy communicating with people and be comfortable spending much of the day on the telephone
  • Demonstrate empathy, professionalism and discretion
  • Be able to work calmly and effectively in a busy environment
  • Have good IT skills and the ability to learn specialist GP systems
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team

Experience in a healthcare, reception, customer service or administrative role would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working Hours

25 hours a week
The successful candidate will work 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Shifts will be scheduled between 13:00-18:00 and may vary according to service requirements.

30 hours a week
The successful candidate will work 6 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Shifts will be scheduled between 0800-1400 and may vary according to service requirements.
