Job summary

Southend on Sea City Council is recruiting a part-time Personal Advisor (30 hours) to act as a focal point for care leavers transitioning to adulthood. The role blends on-site duties at the Civic Centre with hybrid working opportunities, requiring a presence at least three days a week and travel outside Essex if needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in children services, especially with young people.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, policies and procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for Care Leavers to access housing, education, employment and health.
• Create personalised pathway needs assessments and pathway plans.
• Manage a caseload of separated migrant young people and Care Leavers.
• Work with a team to improve services for Care Leavers.
• Act as Corporate Parent and adhere to duties set out in legislation.
