Care UK is seeking a Sous Chef to join our care home kitchen team. You will help the Head Chef ensure meals are prepared to high standards and deadlines met, while taking charge in their absence.

You will use modern kitchen equipment and fresh local produce to create nutritious, diet-sensitive meals for residents, and contribute to menu development by consulting with residents on dietary needs.

Qualifications

• Catering Diploma (City & Guilds/BTEC) and NVQ 2/3 in practical cookery.
• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 is essential.
• Health and Safety knowledge for kitchen operations.

Responsabilités

• Help Head Chef run the kitchen in their absence.
• Develop menus using local produce and dietary considerations.
• Ensure food is prepared to agreed standards and deadlines.
• Assist with stock control and budget considerations when relevant.
