Hamberley Care Management Limited operates Chawley Grove care home in Oxford, seeking a dedicated chef to prepare meals tailored to residents' dietary needs. You will support the head chef in planning high-quality, nutritious menus and ensure hygienic kitchen practices.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 in cooking, a basic food hygiene certificate, and COSHH awareness, with empathy and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a chef, ideally in a care or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Qualification in food preparation/cooking, at least NVQ level 2.
• Basic certificate in Food hygiene.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations.
• Empathy and a desire to make a difference to residents.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals meeting dietary requirements.
• Support head chef in planning and provision of high-quality meals.
• Cater to individual preferences and medical needs (allergies, soft diets).
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Collaborate with care team to ensure enjoyable meal times.
• Deputise for head chef during absences while maintaining quality.
