Job summary

Hamberley Care Management Limited is seeking a dedicated chef for Caddington Grove, a luxurious care home in Dunstable. You will assist the head chef, plan and prepare nutritious meals, and tailor dishes to residents' dietary needs while upholding hygiene standards.

You will work with the care team to make meal times enjoyable, deputise when needed, and benefit from a competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package including pension and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a chef, ideally in care or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Qualification in food preparation/cooking to NVQ level 2 or higher; basic food hygiene certificate.

Responsibilities

• Support head chef in planning and provisioning high‑quality meals meeting nutritional requirements.
• Plan, prepare and serve balanced meals according to dietary needs.
• Cater to individual preferences and medical needs such as allergies or soft diets.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure enjoyable meal times.
• Deputise for head chef during periods of absence, maintaining quality food offers.
