Job summary

St Philips Care Group is hiring a reliable and experienced cook to join our busy kitchen team at The Grove Skellingthorpe Care Centre in the United Kingdom. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals, manage kitchen duties within policy, and maintain high hygiene standards while working within budgets set by the home manager.

Applicants should have relevant catering qualifications, possess good verbal and written skills, and demonstrate an ability to relate empathetically to residents.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Catering or equivalent (706/2) in Catering.
• Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate.
• Experience in care, hospital, or commercial kitchen is advantageous.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to relate to residents in a kind and courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and beverages as required.
• Work in accordance with home policies.
• Maintain a high standard of hygiene at all times.
• Use resources effectively and order food.
• Report issues raised by residents concerning catering to the Care Centre Manager.
• Attend mandatory and in-house training as required.
• Understand COSHH requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene records as required.
