Job summary

The Grove Skellingthorpe Care Centre is recruiting a dedicated Cook to join our busy kitchen team. You will prepare nutritious meals, manage kitchen duties, and work within home budgets while delivering high-quality, home-cooked dishes for our residents.

We value pride in presentation and hygiene, offer full training, and support a flexible schedule to suit 20 hours per week with every other weekend included.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification NVQ Level 2 or 706/2 in Catering.
• Knowledge of textured and modified diets is a plus.
• Experience in care, hospital or commercial kitchen helpful but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and beverages as required.
• Work in accordance with the home’s policies.
• Carry out kitchen duties ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times.
• Use resources effectively and order food.
• Report any issues or matters raised by service users to the Care Centre Manager.
• Attend mandatory and in-house training as required.
• Understand COSHH and maintain cleanliness/hygiene records.
