Job summary

Queens View Harbour Care Home in Troon is seeking a Maintenance Officer to keep the home safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times.

This hands-on role covers repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep across the building and grounds, ensuring equipment and systems run safely and efficiently.

You will work with the Home Manager to plan maintenance, coordinate contractors, and uphold health and safety standards, with paid PVG, pension and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Good knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A proactive and practical approach.
• Reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently; identify issues early and take action.
• Support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required.
• Maintain a well organised, safe and fully functional environment and ensure work aligns with health and safety standards.
