Job summary

Lansdowne Care Home, part of Gold Care Homes, is seeking a maintenance operative to care for the building, grounds and essential systems, ensuring safety and comfort for residents.

You will perform routine checks, manage stock and deliveries, and support health and safety across the home while training new staff on layout and fire procedures. A supportive development path and recognition are available.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the building and equipment.
• Maintain routine checks weekly, monthly and annually on systems in the home; ensure external checks are carried out (e.g., LOler testing).
• Monitor and respond to the fire alarm, boilers and lift.
• Control and ordering of stock and deliveries.
• Maintain health and safety compliance.
• Train new staff on building layout and fire policies and procedures.
• Undertake additional training and development as required.
• Review and update the post's job description as needed.
