Job summary

Sanctuary Care is seeking a Maintenance Operative for Meadow View Residential Care Home in Hersden, Canterbury. You will perform minor repairs, basic plumbing and routine maintenance to a high standard, while supporting health and safety practices and coordinating with residents, families and contractors.

Role requires 39 hours per week at £14.28 per hour, with benefits including annual leave, pension, sick pay and ongoing training through Sanctuary’s development programmes.

Qualifications

Practical experience in minor repairs, basic plumbing and DIY.
Understanding of health and safety protocols; Legionella awareness desirable.
Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively.
Valid driving licence and access to transport.

Responsibilities

Carry out minor repairs and maintain the home and garden to a high standard.
Coordinate contractor visits and ensure work meets quality standards.
Communicate clearly with residents, families, colleagues and contractors.
Provide cover at other homes when needed; safeguarding checks apply.
