Akari Care operates a care home kitchen focused on nutritious meals and resident wellbeing. The Cook will create menus, plate meals attractively, and ensure meals meet individual religious and cultural needs.

The role emphasizes coaching a kitchen team and maintaining high standards while coordinating with serving staff. The position is part-time (27.5 hours/week) with a focus on mealtime supervision, staff development, and flexible patterns.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706 1&2 (achieved or working towards)
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

Responsibilities

• Create menus for residents
• Plate up meals and arrange food trolleys attractively
• Produce quality, wholesome and nutritious food
• Consider religious and cultural needs in meal choices
• Assess resident needs to personalise meals
• Link kitchen with serving areas
• Coach the kitchen team to develop and deliver ideas
