Job summary

The Kensington Care Home in London is seeking a Maintenance Operative to keep facilities fully functional. You will maintain buildings and equipment, follow Bupa SOPs, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

You will carry out safety checks, manage repairs with approved contractors, support refurbishment programs, and assist induction of new colleagues. A building, electrical, or plumbing qualification or 3 years’ hands-on experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of heating, water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution and plumbing.
• Experience with planned maintenance systems and record keeping.
• Familiarity with statutory requirements and compliance.
• Full driving licence.
• Building/electrical/plumbing qualification or substantial hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out health and safety and compliance checks using digital systems.
• Complete maintenance tasks to a high standard and within timescales.
• Manage repairs and quotes with approved contractors.
• Support refurbishment and capex programmes with minimal disruption to residents.
• Induct new colleagues on emergency procedures and equipment use.
