Job summary

Healthcare Ireland Group a Ballymena-based care provider seeks a dedicated Cook for Rose Court, a person-centred care and nursing home. The 37-hour/week role supports the Chef with menu planning, meal preparation, kitchen management and regulatory compliance.

You will deliver high-quality, nutritious meals that meet residents' dietary needs while maintaining a safe, positive working environment for the team. Experience in care settings and a basic Food Safety certificate are preferred.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Cook in a kitchen environment.
• Hold a basic Food Safety certificate.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of dietary needs, nutritional and cultural requirements of elderly residents.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of HACCP, COSHH and Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

• Support the kitchen team alongside the Chef, providing training and support.
• Effective planning, preparation, and delivery of all aspects of food preparation and cooking.
• Ensure operational standards comply.
• Assist with monitoring the home’s catering budget.
• Assist with developing and creating varied and interesting menus.
• Ensure stock ordering and rotation is organized efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Undertake other duties as designated by the Home Manager.
