Job summary

Nocturnal Recruitment Solutions are looking for a Care Home Chef to join a care home based in Buckhurst Hill, Essex. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a care home or similar environment and be able to prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for residents while maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards.

Shifts run 8:00am – 6:00pm with 2-3 days per week, at a competitive rate of £17-£18 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in care home cooking.
• Level 3 Catering qualification required.
• Knowledge of CQC nutrition and hydration standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for 30+ residents.
• Plan menus within budget and meet nutritional needs.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Lead kitchen operations and staff.
• Manage stock levels and ordering.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain quality presentation of meals.
• Foster a collaborative kitchen team environment.
• Communicate with residents, families and management.
