Orchard Care Homes is seeking a skilled Chef / Cook for Eckington Court Nursing Home. You will plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals, lead a dedicated kitchen team, and manage food orders while maintaining high safety and cleanliness standards.

The role focuses on delivering balanced meals tailored to residents’ needs, while complying with HACCP and food safety guidelines and working closely with care staff to support excellent in-house dining.

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef/cook in a care home or hospitality setting.
• Ability to plan nutritious meals catering to individual dietary needs.
• Solid knowledge of HACCP and food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook meals that are nutritious and appealing, aligned with residents' preferences and dietary requirements.
• Lead and support the kitchen team to ensure a friendly, collaborative environment.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and safety regulations, including health and safety and infection control policies.
• Maintain cleaning schedules per the Food Safety Manual and ensure kitchens are always clean.
• Manage stock orders, receive supplies, and rotate stock to maintain freshness.
