Job summary

TipTopJob in Woodbridge is seeking a talented Chef for a permanent, full-time role in a care home. You will plan menus with residents and management, prepare and serve meals, and ensure dietary requirements are met per menus. Strong HACCP compliance and staff supervision are essential.

The role offers a competitive hourly rate of GBP16.50 and opportunities for professional development within a respected UK healthcare provider. A NVQ Level 2:3 in Food preparing and catering is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2:3 in Food preparing and catering required.
• Proven experience as a Chef in healthcare or hospitality.
• Knowledge of nutrition and ability to develop compliant menus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Undertake menu planning in consultation with residents and Manager.
• Oversee and participate in the preparation, cooking and serving of all food per menus.
• Ensure menus display choices and meet dietary requirements.
• Cater for special diets and cultural needs with appropriate options.
• Check stock quantities and place orders according to catering manual.
• Supervise kitchen staff and ensure HACCP processes are followed.
• Keep food expenditure within budget in consultation with Home Manager/Bursar.
