Job summary

Mariposa & Papillon Care is seeking a Cook at Derwent care home in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will assist the Head Chef, prepare and serve hot and cold meals, and ensure meals meet residents’ dietary needs. You’ll keep accurate records and assist with stock and ordering.

We value care experience in a residential setting. A Level 2 or Level 3 catering qualification is preferred or a commitment to further training.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care home kitchen would be beneficial.
• Good standard of English and numeracy skills.
• Willingness to undertake further training relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef with preparing, cooking and serving hot and cold meals.
• Ensure meals meet residents’ dietary requirements and maintain accurate records of stock and orders.
• Check deliveries and ensure crockery and equipment are cleaned and stored properly; kitchen and dining areas meet Health & Safety standards.
