Job summary

Meridian Business Support is seeking a dedicated Chef to join a care home team in Woodbridge. You will plan and prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents while ensuring quality, safety and budget requirements are met.

You should be organized, able to lead a small kitchen team, and maintain high hygiene standards while managing stock, records and staff training. Weekend and holiday flexibility is expected.

Qualifications

• Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate required or willingness to obtain.
• First Aid certification desirable.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in catering or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily menus meeting residents' nutritional needs.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation and service.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
• Monitor stock levels and maintain inventory.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and perform routine deep cleaning.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
