Staffordshire County Council is seeking dedicated staff for Greenfield House, a residential care home for up to ten adults with learning disabilities. The role involves supporting individuals towards independent living, personal wellbeing, and community engagement.

You will work flexibly across mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays, and may rotate across Provider Services as needed. DBS check and health assessment are required during onboarding.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Experience with administering medication.
• Knowledge of the needs of people with learning disabilities.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in social care settings, including safe staffing ratios.
• Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory frameworks affecting vulnerable adults.
• Knowledge of care planning and reviews and evidence of a commitment to achieving positive, personalised outcomes for individuals.
• Knowledge of the principles of person-centred support, active support model and strengths-based approaches.
• Knowledge of risk management and positive risk taking and experience assessing, managing, and mitigating risks.
• Experience in the management of staff, including supervision and performance management.
• Experience of promoting genuine community participation and inclusion for people with care and support needs.
• Be enthusiastic about working with people with learning disabilities and autism.
• ICT skills to complete digital record keeping.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including written English and numeracy.

Responsabilités

• Act as a Key Worker to assess, develop, implement and review person-centred support plans.
• Oversee medication administration and safe handling of medications.
• Attend to individuals' personal and other care needs.
• Manage and supervise a staff team including rotas, absence management, training and leave.
• Undertake audits and act on audit outcomes.
• Be responsible for resolving problems and ensuring the smooth running of the service.
