Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is hiring for a diverse social care role at Greenfield House, a residential care home for adults with learning disabilities. You will work across flexible shifts, providing person-centred support, medication management, and supervision of a care staff team, with a focus on independence and wellbeing.

The role requires an enhanced DBS check, pre-employment health assessment, and willingness to work across provider services as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with administering medication and monitoring residents’ needs.
• Understanding needs of adults with learning disabilities.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in social care.
• Familiarity with safeguarding and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in care planning and reviews, delivering personalised outcomes.
• Knowledge of person-centred support and strengths-based approaches.
• Experience in risk management and mitigating risks in care settings.
• Experience in supervising and developing staff teams.
• Commitment to promoting community participation and inclusion.
• Willingness to work flexibly including weekends/bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Key Worker to assess, develop, implement, and review person-centred support plans and risk assessments for the people we support.
• Oversee medication administration and be responsible for safe handling of medications.
• Attend to individuals’ personal and other care needs.
• Manage and supervise a staff team comprising Senior Support Facilitators, Support Facilitators, and Cooks, including rotas, absence management, training, and leave.
• Undertake audits and act on all audit outcomes.
• Be responsible for resolving problems and ensuring the smooth running of the service.
