Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is seeking motivated people who are passionate about providing outstanding care quality for adults with learning disabilities. Based at Greenfield House, you will support individuals to live independent lives across our services, with flexible shifts including weekends and bank holidays.

You will lead a staff team, oversee care plans, medication safety, and audits, ensuring person-centred, positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in a relevant discipline
• Experience with administering medication
• Knowledge of the needs of people with learning disabilities
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in social care settings
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks affecting vulnerable adults
• Knowledge of care planning and reviews and commitment to positive outcomes
• Knowledge of person-centred support and risk management
• Experience in staff management and supervision
• Experience promoting community participation and inclusion
• Enthusiasm for working with people with learning disabilities and autism
• ICT skills for digital record keeping
• Effective written English and numeracy skills

Responsibilities

• Act as a Key Worker to assess, develop, implement, and review person-centred support plans and risk assessments
• Oversee medication administration and safe handling of medications
• Attend to individuals' personal and other care needs
• Manage and supervise a staff team including rotas, absence management, training and leave
• Undertake audits and act on all audit outcomes
• Be responsible for resolving problems and ensuring smooth running of the service
