Job summary

Quality Service Recruitment Limited is seeking dedicated care staff for night shifts at a residential setting serving the elderly, including a dementia care unit. You will assist in daily living activities, promote sleep hygiene, and ensure resident safety through night checks.

Ideal candidates have prior residential or learning difficulties care experience, a kind patient attitude, strong communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months experience in a care environment.
• DBS dated within the last 6 months or registered on the update service.
• All mandatory training up-to-date.
• Referenceable work history covering the past 2 years.

Job description

Are you looking for Night shifts working alongside an established team of Care Assistants!

This home caters for the Elderly and has a specialist unit for individuals with Dementia related Illnesses. Epilepsy Awareness is desirable but not essential and experience of dealing with mobility and mental health issues. You will be assisting in the residents with their activities of daily living especially promoting good sleep hygiene. You will do regular checks throughout the Night always ensuring the residents safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the residents with their personal care, ensuring their comfort and dignity is always maintained.
• Follow their residents individualised care plans using their bespoke reporting system to document their activities.
• Work effectively alongside the existing care team, completing night checks as per their care plans.

What We Are Looking For:

• Previous experience in a Residential or Learning Difficulties care setting is essential due to the nature of their clientele.
• A kind and patient attitude to their care and highly motivated to assist them lead their best lives.
• Good communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and understanding.
• Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

For this role, you must have;

• A minimum of 3 months experience in a Care environment
• A DBS dated within the last 6 months, registered on the update service or the facility to pay for one upfront
• All relevant mandatory training up-to-date and ideally certificates to show for this or we can assist you to access online training platforms.
• Referenceable work history covering the past 2 years
• A willingness to make a difference

This is an ongoing role and potentially a permanent role for the right candidates!

Shift times are:

Nights – 2130 to 0730

Other shifts are available on request, especially bank holidays.

Rates of pay are £16.90 per hour. You will also accrue up to 28 days paid holiday per year.
