Job summary

Nicholas James Care Homes Ltd is seeking a Care Assistant to join the Carers’ Team at our Deal, Kent home. The role involves supporting residents with daily needs, including those living with dementia, to promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

You will work alongside managers and care staff to maintain a safe, homely environment, providing compassionate care and recording activities while communicating effectively with colleagues and residents to ensure high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Previous care experience is desirable but not essential.
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable but not essential.
• Basic IT skills to support electronic care documentation.

Responsibilities

• Supporting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, and mobility.
• Assisting residents with meals, hydration, and nutrition.
• Providing companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Supporting residents to participate in activities and social engagement.
• Following individual care plans to ensure residents receive personalised care.
• Recording care provided and communicating effectively with colleagues.
• Promoting dignity, respect, and independence for all residents.

About the Role

As a Care Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting residents with their daily needs while promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing. You will provide compassionate care to older people, including those living with dementia, ensuring they feel safe, respected, and valued.

No two days are the same. You will support residents with personal care, encourage social engagement, and help create a warm, homely environment.
