Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society in Southampton is seeking a General Assistant (Housekeeping/Domestic) to help maintain a clean, welcoming environment for residents. You will assist with meal preparation, housekeeping tasks and visitor reception, working 32 hours per week with alternate weekend shifts.

Full training is provided; a high standard of cleanliness and a caring approach are essential. Eligibility to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS check are required and cost covered by Abbeyfield.

Responsibilities

• Keep the Home clean and tidy for residents.
• Assist with meal preparation and welcome visitors.
• May work within cleaning and housekeeping schedules set by Home Manager or Housekeeper.
• Clean residents' bedrooms, self-contained flats, communal areas and offices as needed.
• Assist in providing healthy and nutritious meals while maintaining hygiene.

Pay

£12.71 p/h - £12.81 p/h

Location

Speedwell Court, Mansbridge Road, West End, Southampton.

Hours

32 hours per week, including alternate weekend shifts.

The Role of General Assistant - Housekeeping / Domestic

• As one of our valued general assistants, you're at the front line of care. We're passionate about creating a lovely environment for our residents to enjoy. So you'll help us keep our Home clean and tidy for our residents, assist with meal preparation, and welcome our many visitors.
• Every resident should enjoy a tidy and well maintained environment, clean laundry, and carefully support the Kitchen staff in preparing meals, presented to the highest standard.
• You may work within the cleaning and housekeeping schedules as set by the Home Manager or Housekeeper.
• This varied role may include cleaning of the residents' bedrooms, self-contained flats, the communal areas and offices.
• You may also assist in providing healthy and nutritious food for our residents. By keeping all kitchen and store areas clean, and following all hygienic practices you help protect our residents and keep them safe.
