Job summary

Sugarman Health and Wellbeing Limited is seeking a Care Assistant in Halifax. You will provide compassionate personal care to a service user, assist with mobility, meals, and daily living activities, and monitor health signs. Full training will be provided to support a patient with complex needs.

Qualifications

  • 6 months of care experience required.
  • Driving license preferred; mobility van driving may be needed.
  • Computer literate; able to use basic devices.
  • Willingness to travel or go on holidays abroad.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care (washing, dressing, toileting).
  • Assist with mobility and manual handling.
  • Support meal preparation and feeding as needed.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (after training).
  • Offer companionship and emotional support.
  • Assist with medication prompting where trained.
  • Help with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
  • Follow care plans and report changes to the team.
  • Maintain dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times.

About the Role

Sugarman Health and Wellbeing seeks aCare Assistantto support amale Service UserwithC2 Spinal Injury, tracheotomy, and ventilator dependencyin his home. Full clinical training provided.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care, including washing, dressing, and toileting
  • Assisting with mobility and manual handling
  • Supporting with meal preparation and feeding, where necessary
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs (after training)
  • Offering companionship and emotional support
  • Prompting or assisting with medication (where required and trained)
  • Helping with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry
  • Following care plans and reporting changes or concerns to the care team
  • Maintaining dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times
Who We're Looking for

We’re looking for individualswho are compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality care. Ideally, you will have:

  • Essential: 6 Months of care experience
  • Able to go on holidaysabroad
  • Driving License required, Ability to drive a mobility van
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, flexibility, and Computer literate.
  • able to work with dogs present
