Care By Us is recruiting compassionate Care Assistants to support clients in Stevenage and surrounding areas. You will provide person-centred care in clients’ homes with full training provided. A driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this community-based role.

Guaranteed hours and enhanced weekend pay are available. The role offers local work with paid mileage and opportunities to fund NVQ/Diploma training.

Responsibilities

• Providing dignified personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence support.
• Supporting clients with their medication, including reminders and safe administration.
• Assisting with mobility, transfers and the safe use of aids and equipment.
• Preparing nutritious meals and providing support at mealtimes.
• Helping with light household duties, including laundry and making beds.
• Providing companionship, conversation and emotional support.
• Supporting clients to attend appointments and stay connected to families and communities.
• Maintaining accurate care and support records.
• Responding safely to emergencies.
• Working closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals.

Pay: £14.70 to £16.50 per hour, plus 30p per mile

Pay rates

• Monday to Friday: £14.70 per hour
• Saturday: £16.50 per hour
• Sunday: £16.50 per hour
• Mileage: 30p per mile between client visits
• Enhanced pay: Weekends and bank holidays

Guaranteed hours are available for the right candidates, giving you the security of regular and predictable work.

Shift patterns

Our services operate seven days a week, with shifts available across weekdays and weekends.

Shift times may vary depending on the needs of our clients, but typical patterns include:

• Morning and daytime shifts: Starting between 6:00 am and 7:00 am and finishing at approximately 2:00 pm
• Afternoon and evening shifts: Starting at approximately 2:00 pm and finishing between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm
• Long-day opportunities: Longer shifts may be available for candidates who would prefer to combine daytime and evening availability

What you’ll do

As a Care Assistant, you’ll provide high-quality, person-centred care in our clients’ homes. You’ll follow individual care plans and place dignity, choice and respect at the heart of everything you do.

Your responsibilities may include:
