Job summary

Care By Us is seeking dedicated Care Assistants to support service users across East Hertfordshire. You’ll work flexible hours with guaranteed shifts in a role where compassion, reliability and strong communication are valued. No prior social care experience is required as full training is provided, and a valid driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, bathing and grooming.
• Support with medication preparation and administration.
• Help with mobility and safe use of aids/equipment.
• Prepare meals and offer mealtime assistance.
• Carry out light domestic duties and housekeeping tasks.
• Provide companionship and encourage social engagement.
• Monitor health and report changes to carers or family.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
• Respond to emergencies safely and promptly.
• Collaborate with families and the wider care team.

Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll help with:

• Supporting with personal care – bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming
• Assisting with medication – preparation and administration
• Helping with mobility – and using aids/equipment safely
• Preparing meals/snacks – and offering mealtime support
• Carrying out light domestic duties – laundry, making beds, light cleaning
• Offering companionship – and building meaningful relationships
• Encourage social engagement and family connections
• Monitor health and report any changes to healthcare professionals and family
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
• Respond to emergencies safely and effectively
• Work collaboratively with families and the wider care team

Qualifications

• Driving Requirement: A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
