Job summary

Thornfield Care Home on the outskirts of Seaton, near the Jurassic Coast, is hiring a Care Assistant. You will support residents with daily living, personal care, mobility, nutrition and emotional wellbeing, following care plans to provide safe, respectful care.

This role welcomes both experienced carers and newcomers, with full training, guidance and ongoing development. Alternate weekends work is required and the team values compassion.

Qualifications

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A reliable and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and develop.
• NVQ Level 2 desirable or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living including personal care, mobility and nutrition.
• Support emotional wellbeing and dignity through person-centred care.
• Follow care plans and report changes in condition promptly.
• Work as part of a supportive team with ongoing training provided.

Job description

Thornfield Care Home is situated on the outskirts of the lovely seaside town of Seaton which is located on the world-famous Jurassic Coast. Thornfield Care Home is registered for 52 residents.

Care Assistant Contract

• £13.00 per hour
• Full & Part time hours available
• Paid DBS pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Care Assistant, you will make a meaningful difference in our residents lives everyday. This role is central to delivering high quality, person centred care that supports dignity, independence and overall wellbeing.

You will support individuals with daily living including personal care, mobility, nutrition and emotional wellbeing, helping them feel comfortable, respected and valued. By following care plans and recognising changes in condition, you will contribute to safe, responsive and consistent care.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will help create a warm and positive environment where relationships matter and people feel truly cared for. This opportunity is open to both experienced carers and those new to care, with full training, guidance and ongoing development provided to support your journey.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
