Job summary

Thornfield Care Home in Seaton is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to plan and deliver engaging, person-centred activities for residents, including those living with dementia. You will work as part of a caring team to promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction, tailoring a varied programme to individual interests and needs.

This contract offers 24–32 hours per week at £12.71 per hour, with paid DBS, pension and uniform provided, plus 5.6 weeks' annual leave pro rata for

Qualifications

  • Creative, organised approach to activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities.
  • Genuine interest in supporting older people.
  • Experience in activities or related role is beneficial.
  • Transferable skills from hospitality, events or community work welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver group and 1:1 activities tailored to resident interests.

Job description

Thornfield Care Home is situated on the outskirts of the lovely seaside town of Seaton which is located on the world-famous Jurassic Coast. Thornfield Care Home is registered for 52 residents.

Activities Coordinator Contract
  • £12.71 per hour
  • Contracted to 24- 32hours per week
  • Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
Role Overview

As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
