Job summary

Thornfield Care Home in Seaton seeks an Activities Coordinator to enhance daily life through engaging, person-centred activities. You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to individual interests and care needs, with a focus on wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

The role supports residents including those living with dementia and involves building strong relationships to understand preferences, with training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to individual interests and care needs.
  • Deliver engaging, meaningful activities to promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.
  • Build strong relationships to understand preferences and enable inclusive participation, including for those living with dementia.
  • Work as part of the wider team to create a positive, stimulating environment; willing to train and develop in the role.
  • Occasional weekend work as required (alternate weekends).

Job description

Thornfield Care Home is situated on the outskirts of the lovely seaside town of Seaton which is located on the world-famous Jurassic Coast. Thornfield Care Home is registered for 52 residents.

  • £12.71 per hour
  • Contracted to 24- 32hours per week
  • Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
Role Overview

As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.
The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.

  • Previous experience in activities or a similar role is beneficial, however candidates with transferable skills from roles such as hospitality, events, childcare or community work are encouraged to apply
