Job summary

Beechgrove Care Home in the Scottish countryside invites applications for a Care Assistant. You will support residents with daily living, personal care, mobility and nutrition, following care plans to ensure dignity and wellbeing.

Training and ongoing development are provided. Open to experienced carers or newcomers; the role offers full-time hours with a competitive hourly wage, paid PVG, pension, uniform, and generous annual leave.

Qualifications

• Caring, compassionate and respectful approach to residents.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop in care responsibilities.
• Previous care experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Desirable SVQ/NVQ Level 2 or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care and mobility.
• Support nutritional needs and emotional wellbeing per care plans.
• Follow care plans, monitor changes, and ensure safe, responsive care.
• Work as part of a supportive team to create a warm, respectful environment.
• Participate in training and development offered to staff.

Job description

Our private nursing home is tucked away within the picturesque Lanark countryside, offering specialist care for 70-residents.

Care Assistant Contract

• £13.60 per hour
• Contracted to up to 44 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Care Assistant, you will make a meaningful difference in our residents lives everyday. This role is central to delivering high quality, person centred care that supports dignity, independence and overall wellbeing.

You will support individuals with daily living including personal care, mobility, nutrition and emotional wellbeing, helping them feel comfortable, respected and valued. By following care plans and recognising changes in condition, you will contribute to safe, responsive and consistent care.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will help create a warm and positive environment where relationships matter and people feel truly cared for. This opportunity is open to both experienced carers and those new to care, with full training, guidance and ongoing development provided to support your journey.
